Why Pentest AI Needs a Memory Layer
Generic AI chatbots forget your scope the moment you close the tab. In penetration testing, context is everything — the IP you scanned yesterday, the credential you saved from OSINT, the admin panel ffuf found at 2 AM. Without that context, AI suggestions become generic and dangerous.
HackFast Project Intel Cache is a per-project in-memory index of IPs, ports, people, and credentials. Tab mention searches pull from the cache instead of live database queries, so results appear instantly as you type.
What Gets Cached
- IPs and ports: Every host and open service from scans and manual adds
- People: Saved employees with role, company, and known emails
- Credentials: Saved creds from CredCruncher, OSINT, and breach data
- Relationships: Credential matches linked to people in your project
Automatic Refresh
The cache rebuilds when data changes — new IP, saved person, saved credential, or scan result. It also expires after four minutes to stay fresh without hammering the database on every keystroke.
View and search your full intel cache from Project Settings → Project Intel Cache. Force-rebuild anytime if you suspect stale data after bulk imports.
Press Tab to Mention Anything
In Chats and AI Insights, press Tab while typing to open the mention picker at your cursor. Select an IP, port, person, or credential and the AI receives full context:
- People mentions include role, company, emails, and matched credentials
- Credential mentions include saved details without requiring an IP attachment first
- IP/port mentions ground replies in your actual scan data

Combine Tab mentions with specific questions for better AI output:
- "@[10.0.0.5:443] What CVEs should I check for this nginx version?"
- "@[john.doe@corp.com] What password spray targets make sense?"
- "@[saved-cred-admin] Where should I try this on the internal network?"
